Piegan Pete (marmot shown on a rock at the top) is the offspring of the famous Piegan James. The story of the name is short, but exciting; well, exciting for a marmot anyway. Old Piegan James was a tough old marmot with many battle scars and an arrogant way. He welcomed us at Piegan Pass for a summer. I think his arrogance finally was his end.

Now Piegan Pete is a little smarter than his Pop. He sneaks and hides.
