Search engine positioning is so important to a web site that a whole specialty field has grown around providing this service. As with most Internet business related services, a great deal of misleading material and advertising has emerged.

Search Engine Positioning Takes Research and Hard Work

A good site should be designed with search engine requirements in mind. Part of my design service is to submit your site to a current list of the most popular search engines, then re-evaluate how it does in the search engines after a period of time. To improve placement using your chosen keywords, I might suggest minor changes in the wording of your front page and the other pages from your site I've submitted for you. These changes are usually in the title, subtitles or frequency of keywords. I then resubmit your site. This process takes about 6 - 8 weeks to do once, since it takes that long for most search engines to add a site to their database. It should be an on going process because search engines frequently change their criteria.

I can teach a client about the process of monitoring search engine placement if the client wants to continue the process on their own.
